Head lice are parasitic insects which live in human hair. Head lice is a common problem for kids particularly from 3 to 12 age group. The bites of the head lice may lead to inflammation of scalp and causes itching. There are some domestic and herbal remedies to get rid of head lice

Dirt leads to head lice. So, if you find your long hair difficult to manage then it is better to maintain it at a length which you can manage as regular washing of hair is essential.

Domestic cures for Head Lice.
Listed below are some of the home remedies for head lice problems.

Mix egg yolk, lemon juice and vinegar and apply it on the scalp and after 20 to 30 minutes wash it off with warm water.

Another home remedy for head lice is lemon. Make a preparation by adding lemon juice and garlic paste and apply the paste gently on your scalp. Allow the mixture to dry for at least 25 to 30 minutes.

Vinegar is the other useful home remedy for head lice. Add 3 to 4 tablespoon of vinegar with 2 tablespoon of garlic paste and lemon juice and apply on the scalp. Apply this preparation at least 3 to 4 times in a month and see the result.

Olive oil is beneficial to deal with head lice. Apply olive oil in your hair especially scalp and wrap it with a plastic bag. Keep the plastic bag overnight and wash off your hair in the morning.

You can also apply almond oil to get rid of head lice. Make a mixture of almond oil with lemon juice and apply on your scalp. Keep the paste on your scalp for 1-2 hours before you wash it with cold water.

Herbal cures for head lice:
There are some effective herbal remedies to get rid of head lice.

Use Neem leaves to kill head lice. Make a paste of neem leaves and apply on your scalp atleast 2 times a twice.

You can also use basil leaves to get rid of head lice. Make a paste of basal leaves and margosa leaf. Apply it on scalp and let it for at least half an hour. Apply this preparation twice or thrice a week.
